Based on Walt Longmire Mystery series of novels by Craig Johnson, "Longmire" Season 6 has not been confirmed yet. Whereas fans of the show are hopefull that Netflix will not disappoint them. Recently the network has premiered "Longmire" Season 5.

The show revolves around the character Walt Longmire, a Wyoming county sheriff who returns to work after his wife's death. Longmire investigates his wife's death with the help of his friends and daughter.

As there is no conformation regarding happening of Longmire Season 6, many rumors and speculations are coming out regarding the matter.

According to Fabnewz, the makers of the show has understood that that it's not one of the higher-rated shows on Netflix but if Season 5 become the last season then we'd have gotten a "final season" tag and the story can have a proper send-off. So there is still hope the show will be renewed for the next season, sometime in 2017 for sure."

According to Varity, Netflix has issued notice to Sony Pictures Television regarding its decision to stop telecast of the family drama- Bloodline after it's third season. Further the number of episodes of Bloodline season 3 has been reduced to 10 from the original 13.

The decision by Netflix is perhaps driven by performance of the show and certain other policy decisions that have impacted the profits adversely. In addition, increased costs production and the decision by Florida to cancel tax bonuses for entertainment projects filmed in the state may have led Sony Pictures to halt the production.

In this context, fans of "Longmire" may be led to wonder if season 6 too may go the Bloodline way.

Longmire has a very loyal following.  The audience turn up to watch the series on Netflix but whether the show will really return for a 6th season is million-dollar question that can only be answered by Netflix and show's makers.
