Chris Brown and Rihanna's breakup is proving to be a bad one as the two are using Twitter and Instagram to attack the other.

Rihanna posted a picture on Instagram with words that said, "If I drop all my hoes for you and you still don't work out, you owe me some hoes". Brown apparently believed that his ex was referring to him. In response, he took to Twitter on Friday and insinuated that Rihanna slept around and that was the reason they were no longer together.

"She's not mine if she's everybody else's," Brown tweeted.

The tweet had been retweeted over 12,000 times by the afternoon and was a favorite of more than 5,000 users on the social media site. The subtweets are the latest sign of acrimony between the two.  On May 7, the two were also trading barbs on Twitter. Brown tweeted that loving someone could often be too much and it was better done from a distance. Rihanna then wrote on her page that she would not settle for anything less than 100%.

Brown and Rihanna have taken their relationship issues public ever since he confirmed their breakup on May 5. Brown said  his ex was simply too young for him to consider settling down with. He wanted to focus on himself without having to be anyone's other half.

"I'm always gonna love that person. I cant be focused on wife-ing someone that young. I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be," he told The Kyle and Jackie Show.

Brown's father, Clinton, predicted in April that his son and Rihanna would not have a happily ever after. He told The New York Post that he did not approve of the two getting back together. He felt that his son was better suited with singer Jordin Sparks or ex girlfriend Karrueche Tran.

"You have to have a balance in a relationship. You have to have someone who is spontaneous and whimsical but you also have to have someone who is grounded and logical," he said.

Clinton did say that he could understand why his son was attracted to the Stay singer. He said she was sensual and exotic. Ultimately, he thought tragedy would be the end result if they remained together.

"Is that a given - that you can't have fortune and fame without (death) being the end result?" he said.
