Angela Simmons has opened up about motherhood and her life at home with fiance Sutton Tennyson and their new son, Sutton Joseph, in a new interview.

After giving birth to the baby boy weeks before his due date, the Growing Up Hip Hop star and daughter of Rev. Run spoke of his early arrival.

“We thought we had another month to get the nursery ready,” Simmons told People Magazine on Wednesday.

Luckily, they had some help.

“Angela and Sutton were such a pleasure to work with,” said nursery designer Vanessa Antonelli. “It’s so refreshing when both parents show tremendous interest in the design process. They knew they wanted the Nurseryworks Vetro crib for the little one, and I created a room around it using custom art like the tape art focal wall by Eric Klein and the DJ’ing Cookie Monster by Art of Perego.”

While her son has a stunning nursery, despite the unexpected timing of his arrival, he hasn't been doing much sleeping.

“He is a hungry boy,” Simmons said of Sutton Joseph. “He’s up every few hours wanting to eat. It doesn’t leave a lot of time to close my eyes. But it’s all worth it.”

In addition to having help with the design of her nursery, Simmons has also had help tending to her son's needs from her soon-to-be husband.

“He’s been so helpful, doing middle-of-the-night diaper changes and everything,” she said.
