Season 12 will be the final season for "Bones" but the stars and the creators of the show promised the fans that they will be in a good ride. Season 11 ended with major cliffhangers, so by January, fans will get to answer many of their questions.

It can be recalled that Brennan (Emily Deschanel) was kidnapped by a serial killer and Zack (Eric Millegan) might be the one to save her. According to Christian Daily, Zack's storyline will be further explored in "Bones" Season 12.

Talking to TV Line, executive producer Jonathan Collier teased that Zack might be the biggest challenge Booth (David Boreanaz), Brennan and the squad will face this season. He explained that Zack will place both Booth and Brennan in jeopardy because he will place the couple in different viewpoints.

However, he assured that it will not challenge the marriage as the couple's relationship is proven to be strong. Showrunner Michael Peterson also added in a separate interview that fans will understand where Zack came from as they get a deeper look in his life.

It was also revealed that Zack could not be the dreadful serial killer. He is only a protégé who has a mental and psychological disorder. It was said that he will change his mind about killing Brennan but fans can also expect that he will die in the process.

Meanwhile, Yibada reported that Brennan's ex-boyfriend Sully (Eddie McClintock) will be returning to "Bones" Season 12. It was said that Sully will be seeking to finish an unfinished business with Brennan. Will this be the biggest challenge for Brennan and Booth's marriage?

Deschanel revealed in an earlier interview that "Bones" Season 12 will be filled with heartbreaking scenes. But she assured the fans that it will end well for everybody especially for Brennan and Booth.

"Bones" Season 12 will only have 12 episodes and it will air sometime in January 2017.
