Fox is reaching back into its vaults and pulling Jack Bauer out of its depths.

According to Deadline, the network is looking to revive 24 as a miniseries/limited series.

24 ended its eight season run in 2010 and, while the idea of a possible movie has been kicked around ever since the series made its departure form the small screen, it has never materialized.

However, this new venture was proposed by former 24 showrunner Howard Gordon. According to Deadline, Howard, who is the current executive producer of Homeland, wants to start the series with a new story arc.

It appears 24's former executive producer David Fury, who currently works on the new FX series Tyrant, is also onboard with the idea. Fury re-tweeted Deadline's article with the addition "Yep, I'm pulling double duty along w/ TYRANT. Whoo & Hoo!"

While there is no confirmation on whether or not Kiefer Sutherland would reprise his role as Jack Bauer, the Examiner states that Sutherland should have a fairly free schedule at the moment since his role on Fox's Touch will end as it is not returning third season.

As far as the length of the series goes, EW is reporting that the network is looking at a 13 episode reboot.
