There were earlier rumors that claim that OnePlus 4 might not include a 3.5 mm audio jack. This follows Apple's iPhone 7 and Motorola's Moto Z, which removed the headphone jack in order to get a slimmer and water resistant phone.

According to Tech Times, OnePlus founder Carl Pei started a Twitter poll about the matter. The founder asked mobile phone enthusiasts and users as to whether they would like a headphone jack or not.

As of writing, the poll results showed about 87 percent of the people wanting to retain the audio jack in the upcoming OnePlus 4. Although the phone is still awaiting release, the founder might just be taking customer opinions about headphone jacks.

Meanwhile, Parent Herald reported that the upcoming OnePlus 4 might go head to head with Samsung and Apple in the market. It is said that Samsung will release the new Samsung Galaxy 8 while Apple will release a new iPhone next year.

Pei earlier confirmed that the OnePlus 4 will boast a superior display panel with its Optic AMOLED to ensure greater color and vibrancy display on the smartphone. The 5.5-inch phone will also have 2K or QHD resolution which will mark its entry to the virtual reality space.

There were speculations that the phone will run with the latest Qualcomm chip Snapdragon 830 and it will have a massive 8GB RAM. It was also speculated that it will be released with Android 7.0 Nougat. For the camera, it will likely have a 23-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.

In order to incorporate a more powerful CPU along with its high resolution display, it was said that the company has improved the battery life for OnePlus 4. The battery is expected to be bigger and will increase from 3500 mAh from the existing OnePlus 3 to 4000 mAh for OnePlus 4.

The company promises that despite these upgrades, it will still be an affordable phone. The price is speculated to be below $400. OnePlus 4 is speculated to be released on the market by June 2017.
