Kim Kardashian attended the 2013 Met Gala for the first time and her mother Kris Jenner wanted to join her daughter at the swanky event but the event's chair, Anna Wintour, reportedly banned the mother-of-six from going.

A source said that when Jenner inquired about joining her daughter on the red carpet to fete the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit, the editor-in-chief of Vogue said, "One Kardashian is enough!"

"Anna approves every star who enters and although she finally relented on Kim, she drew the line at Kris, who was desperate to attend," a source told Radar Online. "Anna wants a parade of stars at the gala, not a parade of reality stars!"

Wintour, who was the inspiration for the movie and the book The Devil Wears Prada, also declined a host of other reality stars from attending, though they were ready to buy their way into the event.

According to the insider, she also rejected The Real Housewives of New York stars Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill, LuAnn de Lesseps, Heather Thomson, Sonja Morgan and Aviva Drescher. The socialites were prepared to buy a table at the exclusive A-list event but "Anna would never, ever allow a group of Real Housewives to rub shoulders with fashion's elite," the source said.

Kardashian reportedly tried to attend last year's event but was rejected while West, whom Wintour is a fan of, was able to attend.

The Kourtney & Kim Take Miami star was able to make this year's Met Gala 2013 guest list after having dinner at Wintour's home on May 6. The reality star was so excited she tweeted about what she wore to her first meeting with the famed editor of the industry's biggest fashion magazine.

"Prada kinda night! Style by rushkabergman BigLove," Kardashian wrote on Twitter.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wore a chic black satin formfitting dress with white flower detail and white pumps with bold, red lipstick and parted sideswept hair to Wintour's home. Her beau wore a black crewneck sweater with black leather jeans.
