The official website of the Tamagotchi is Bandai. They recently announced that a new short film about the Tamagotchi is going to be aired. It will be launched alongside another anime that is said to be released soon. 

The movie is called "Tamagotchi the Movie: Great Secret Delivery Strategy" according to News Everyday. According to the same site, this is said to be the first screening regarding the Tamagotchi in about nine whole years. 

This is quite a big move for the virtual game that was introduced in the late 90's. The Tamagotchi became really popular when it was announced and people all over the world had their own custom pets they had to take care of as it would've been in a real life situation.

Since then the game has received a lot of attention and there have been many anime created regarding it. Even until now the Tamagotchi had a TV series which ran for six whole years until 2015. 

According to Mstars News, the new short film is said to contain elements which are comprised of humor set for children. However, at the same time, it has elements of nostalgia so adults can enjoy it just as much. 

Considering the fact that the Tamagotchi was created nearly 20 years ago, it is only fit to assume many of its old users are adults or even parents now. This is why the producers are doing this as a gesture to all their users. 

Up until now, over 80 million Tamagotchi games have been sold. This sure is an achievement not acquired by many products, especially games from the 90s. It is hoped that the short film will future hold the name of the game. 

This simplistic game's franchise is still running even decades after its introduction. It sure is a mark in history that won't go away easy.
