Sean "Jay-Z" Carter's mother, Gloria Carter, revealed that her son "melts" when he interacts with his 16-month-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

Gloria opened up about her mogul son and granddaughter at a Mother's Day weekend event for her Shawn Carter Foundation on May 11. When asked about her famous family, she shared the joys of being a grandmother.

"It warms my heart to see how he interacts with his daughter," Gloria told Us Weekly. "And when she says, 'Papa,' he just melts. He's a great dad."

"The amazing thing about being a grandmother is that you go get the kids, but when you're tired, you can take them home!" she added.

When asked if she knew whether or not her son and daughter-in-law, Beyonce, wanted more grandchildren, Gloria replied, "I think so!" Jay-Z's mother added that her granddaughter has learned how to say "hello" and "bye bye," and uses it strategically.

"She's very very smart," Gloria said of Blue Ivy. "But [the TV show Babies Choice] teaches the babies that when you say hello, that means you're going to be around. But when you say, 'bye bye,' it means you're going to disappear. So when you're around her, when she looks at you and she's tired of you, she looks at you and she says, 'bye bye!' "

Gloria said she gets full support from her son for the Shawn Carter Foundation, a non-profit organization doles out scholarships to students who can't afford to go to college.

"When I did this, [Jay-Z] said 'Ma, this is your baby.' But when I need him to be here, he's here because he believes in it too," Gloria said.

Enstars reported that Jay-Z was photographed playing with Blue Ivy in a restaurant in Paris during one of his wife's stops for her Mrs. Carter Show world tour. He proved that he's a hands-on father- when the couple exited their car, he was carrying Blue Ivy and planted a kiss on her lips. In other photos, after Blue Ivy walked over to him, he hugged, kissed and doted on his daughter.
