Chinese Katy Perry fans have to wait a bit longer after she called off her concert scheduled in China on November 11. She cited that her absence was due to a "family emergency," though she didn't clearly stipulate further reasons.

The "Roar" hitmaker was due to perform in Shenzhen, China before a huge crowd in celebration of Single-Day. Perry posted her announcement on Chinese social media website Weibo, saying: "Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency. I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon (sic)" US Weekly has reported.

The event organizers were also remorseful with Perry`s plight and wrote in a statement how sad they are for her, as they wished her best wishes as she sojourns through her difficult times and hoped to see her soon in China.

The disappointing news came days after Donald Trump won in the US elections as the 45th President of the US - a development that seemed to have drained the "Rise" singer. Perry was a strong supporter of Hillary Clinton, though her parents backed Trump, Mirror has reported.

Despite her parents and family's support for Trump, she emphasized that she has only one family, as she didn't contain herself over the real estate mogul's victory.

After the polls, she changed her Twitter profile icon into a black square and went on further to write on her Twitter account, "We will never be silenced. The revolution is coming. Rise up. Power to the people. We will never be silenced #LoveTrumpshate. Do not sit still. Do not weep. Move. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us. Fight for what is RIGHT."

Perry has spent the last few days protesting and has encouraged her fans to uphold peace as they protest.
