"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is an upcoming science fiction action-horror movie directed by Paul W. S. Anderson. It is the sequel to Resident Evil: Retribution in 2007 and will be the sixth and last installment of this series.

In September 2012, following the box-office success of Resident Evil: Retribution, a sixth film in the Resident Evil series was confirmed by the head of Sony Pictures Distribution.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter's storyline involves the T-virus, which is unleashed by the evil Umbrella Corporation and spread to every corner of the globe, turning Earth into a hellscape of zombies.

Now, Alice, a former Umbrella employee turned rogue warrior, joins her friends on a last-chance mission to save mankind. But the Red Queen knows Alice is coming and the final battle is determined if the rest of mankind lives or dies.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is produced by Jeremy Bolt, Paul W. S. Anderson, Robert Kulzer, and Samuel Hadida. Martin Moszkowicz (Constantin Film) is the executive producer together with Victor Hadida (Metropolitan Films).

Principal photography on the film began on September 18, 2015, in Cape Town and/ Hartbeespoort Dam, South Africa.

With Milla Jovovich as Alice and Ever Gabo Anderson as the Red Queen. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is scheduled to be released on December 23 in Japan and January 27 next year in North America on 2D, 3D, and Imax 3D, according to CinemaBlend.

Many are surprised that this franchise has lasted as long as it has, but sci-fi/horror flicks have always been pretty decent earners and that's really all that matters. The excitement of fans in response to the trailer of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter gives Sony Pictures hopes.
