Although there's still a little over 24 hours left until the Season 12 winner of American Idol is announced, the highly anticipated outcome of the singing competition between Candice Glover and Kree Harrison may have already been determined.

According to Wet Paint, if the Twitter feedback to the two contestants is any indicator of the final results, then Glover would easily be the AI's winner, as she has in excess of 94,000 followers compared to Harrison's 87,000.

However, while the social networking statistics seem to accurately predict the outcome based on popularity, the recently eliminated Angie Miller actually had 172,000 followers.  To top it off, another ousted competitor, Lazaro Arbos, possesses more followers than a good chunk of the other Top 10 finalists.

Miller's elimination was at the very least, shocking, but did serve to bring some more mystique into the competition in the week leading up to this Thursday's winner.

In conclusion, Miller seemed to be the favorite to walk away with the singing crown going into the Top 3 last week, but when it came down to the vote, the talented competitor was ultimately ousted.

Therefore, while the amount of followers does gauge the amount of interest an Idol contestant has garnered, it won't necessarily guarantee a victory.  Only time will truly tell who will be crowned the 2013 American Idol winner.
