It's one of the most talked about issues People Magazine puts out every year and bestows a title on one male star that makes him one of the most sought-after men in the world, and this year, the Sexiest Man Alive title will be bestowed upon none other than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

The former WWE star turned successful actor was awarded the title by the magazine because he is the world's highest-paid actor with big box-office draw, but mainly because his upcoming role in the newest Disney film Moana also shows off what the magazine calls his "big heart," which made him the perfect candidate for the role.

"I said, 'That's awesome,' he revealed in his cover interview with the magazine about learning he was getting the honor. "And then what went through my mind was just how cool and exciting it is. And then I thought, 'Wow, we've pretty much reached the pinnacle.' I'm not quite too sure where we go from here. I've done it all, this is it."

The title has been awarded every year since 1985, and the previous winners were two-time winners Richard Gere, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Johnny Depp, as well as single-time winners Mel Gibson, Mark Harmon,l Harry Hamlin, John F. Kennedy Jr., Sean Connery, Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Nick Nolte, Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington, Harrison Ford, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Affleck, Jude Law, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Adam Levine, Chris Hemsworth and David Beckham.

And while the winner is usually a decision that is met with hard criticism from a lot of fans who are disappointed that their favorite actor doesn't get the title, there seems to actually be more support than ever for this decision.
