Chris Brown unveiled his new social media-driven app, The Chris Brown Channel App, today. The Chris Brown Channel is a new kind of entertainment app that provides faster, more intimate and interactive opportunities to connect with fans. The app combines social media and continuous streaming of fresh content, including photos and posts.

Brown said:

"I am so excited to get closer to my fans - to bring them into my world, hearing from me directly, in my own words wherever I am, whenever they want. Through my channel app they can be part of my music, my art and my life, day in and day out."

Fans can do things like check out the singer's closet, see him play basketball, follow his whereabouts backstage and even watch him light up. A creative team sustains the channel's content, giving fans access to videos, status updates, photos and even the opportunity to participate in polls.

Brown will incorporate the content from the platforms he was using until the launch of The Chris Brown Channel. His already bustling social media presence includes 30 million Likes for his Facebook posts and 12.5 million followers on Twitter.

Back in January, Brown expressed his dismay with social media in a post on Instagram. He noted that he no longer wanted any part of the social media world. The launch of his new app is an indication that Brown wants to maintain his social media presence.
