Chris Brown seems to be moving on from Rihanna and going back to his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran as he recently sent the model/socialite some love on her birthday.

Tran turned 25 years old on May 17 and Brown sent Tran a happy birthday message on Twitter.

"Happy bday @karrueche," Brown wrote. The tweet was retweeted by more than 3,000 followers. 

Moments later, Tran responded with a heart symbol. 

No word on if Tran spent her birthday with Brown, but Tran posted a throwback picture of the two on her Instagram page.

The photo shows Tran bending over with Brown's face in her butt. 

"TBT my birthday last year. Who's face am I gonna put my ass in this year? Lmao I'm kidding," Tran wrote on Thursday with the below picture. 

A source close to the two said that Brown is trying to rekindle his relationship with Tran.

"He's been initiating contact with her, not the other way around. I wouldn't say Karrueche and Chris are together but they are talking and kicking it," the source said. 

Last year, Brown broke up with Tran in a "break-up video" he released to the public. In the video, he asks himself, "Is there such thing as loving two people? I don't know if that's possible but for me I just feel like that." The video led to many reports that Brown left her for Rihanna.

In an interview with Rolling Out magazine this year, the model said that she found happiness" in herself at the public breakup. 

"It was very hard," she said. "I try my best to ignore the negativity, which is hard for me because it's a lot to deal with. But I try to keep a positive mind, stay strong and not put energy into it."  She continued: "Any breakup is hard, I put it all behind me."

Enstars reported earlier that Tran partied with Brown for his 24th birthday at the Emerson Theatre in Los Angeles.
