A shooting at the Cannes film festival has been reported Friday and it appears that nobody was injured, according to early reports.

A man started firing a pistol during a live TV broadcast on the waterfront at Cannes sending actors Cristoph Waltz and Daniel Auteuil running for cover, according to a Reuters report.

"The bodyguards jumped over the barriers into the crowd and pulled him to the ground. The police arrived and told everyone to run because there was a grenade in his hand," witness Arthur Laiguesse told Reuters.

Police described the man as a "crazy guy" and arrested him on the scene. They found a dummy granade and a knife with him, authorities said, according to Reuters' report.

It is unknown who the man was targeting and if people were injured.

The shooting is the second negative incident of the festival. ewels intended for movie stars at the Cannes Film Festival were stolen from a hotel room late Thursday night.

Swiss jewelry company Chopard was keeping the jewels in a safe, which were intended to be loaned to top actors. French police reported that the jewels were stolen from the safe in a room at the Suite Novotel Cannes Centre. The identities of the burglars are unknown at this time.

France 24 reported that "the safe containing the jewels was pulled off the wall, and the thief or thieves carried it away."

The Chopard employee whose hotel room was broken into was identified as an American, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The heist may have been an inside job with employees of the Novotel Hotel itself, according to French police.
