Critically acclaimed author George R.R. Martin seems busy these days with his writing for the much awaited sixth book. Winds of Winter. Martin has recently cancelled his convention appearances which apparently led to the rumor that he will break a habit by not writing any episodes for Game of Thrones Season 6.

Martin is preparing to leave for the Guadalajara International Book Fair. Fans of the author are disappointed because according to Martin's blog, GRRM Livejournal it would be his last scheduled event for 2016.

Furthermore, he also mentioned that his appearance schedule for 2017 is very limited until The Winds of Winter, the upcoming sixth book in the series of seven, is completed.

This is my last scheduled event for 2016. My appearance schedule for 2017 is very limited and will remain so until WINDS is completed. So if you want to meet me or get a book signed, this will be the last chance for a good few months, he said.

Fans who want to get their books signed should take the last chance of seeing him in Mexico. Martin's fans have been waiting for five years for the next chapter of the book since A Dance with Dragons was published in 2011 that coincides with the premiere of the television series.

Many readers believe that the new novel was already complete and was expected to be released around the time of the premiere of Season 7 of Games of Thrones. In addition, George R.R Martin said that he decided not to write an episode for Season 6 of the series. Writing scripts for him would usually take weeks or more, especially if it is not a straight adaptation of the novels.

According to Winter is Coming website, George R.R. Martin will continue to write The Winds of Winter in 2017 and those who thought that he had already completed his manuscript can adjust their expectations. It seems like the next book will not be published in time that Game of Thrones Season 7 will be released next year.
