Mick Jagger is now a father to his eighth child at the age of 73.

Jagger's 29-year-old girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, delivered their first child together on Thursday, a son. This is Hamrick's first child but Jagger's eighth.

"They are both delighted," reads a new statement regarding the couple. "Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time."

With the arrival of his eighth son, Jagger continues to grow his unconventional family. His oldest child is daughter Karis, 46, whom he had with Marsha Hunt. He has a 45-year-old daughter, Jade, with Bianca Jagger, a 32-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, a 31-year-old son, James, a 24-year-old daughter, Georgia May, and a 18-year-old son, Gabriel, with Jerry Hall, and a 17-year-old son, Lucas, with Luciana Gimenez Morad.

Additionally, Jagger has five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

When it was announced that Jagger would be having his eighth child, a spokesperson for the rock star further explained the situation.

"This is great news. It will be Mick's eighth child and nothing fazes him. He's been incredibly supportive," the spokesperson said. "She's very bright, intelligent, sparky and has her own ideas about how she wants to lead her life. She knows what a great relationship Mick has with all of his children and can't wait for him to be a dad again. They are taking the news in their stride."

The birth of Jagger's eight child comes amid his band, The Rolling Stones, releasing their 25th studio album, Blue & Lonesome, on Dec. 2. The album features covers of notable blues songs, including "Just Your Fool", "Ride 'Em On Down", "I Can't Quit You Baby" and "Blue and Lonesome".
