Tarek and Christina El Moussa have parted ways, so will HGTV's Flip or Flop be canceled?

Although the house flipping couple has chosen to leave their marriage behind, their show has continued and is expected to begin production on a new season sometime in the coming months.

In a statement to Entertainment Tonight earlier this week, the network said, "We admire and appreciate Tarek and Christina’s great work on Flip or Flop. When it comes to matters related to their own family, we respect their privacy and honor any decision that works best for them and their children. HGTV is currently airing episodes of Flip or Flop and the series will continue production as scheduled."

While the continuation may come as a surprise to some, Tarek and Christina actually filmed several scenes for the show (at least) since parting ways in May.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa formally announced their decision to end their marriage on Monday, Dec. 12, less than two weeks after the premiere of the seventh season of their successful series.

“We decided to separate while we reevaluated the next steps in our married life,” the couple said in a statement to press. “We believed this was in the best interests of the children and the best way to determine a path forward.”

To see more of Tarek and Christina El Moussa, tune into the seventh season of Flip or Flop airing every Thursday night at 9 p.m. on HGTV.
