Hollywood icon Zsa Zsa Gabor has died at the age of 99, her publicist confirmed Sunday.

Gabor died in her Bel Air mansion on Sunday, publicist Ed Lozzi told Variety. The actress reportedly died of a heart attack, according to TMZ. She was on life support for the final five years of her life.

The Hungarian-born actress and model emigrated to the United States in 1941 where she would soon find a career in Hollywood. Her more notable films included Lovely to Look At, We're Not Married! and the 1952 version of Moulin Rouge. Her career lasted all the way until the mid-90s.

But Gabor would ultimately become more well-known for her personal life and celebrity. She married nine times, to Burhan Asaf Belge from 1937-41, to Conrad Hilton from 1942-47, to George Sanders from 1949-54, to Herbert Hutner from 1962-66, to Joshua S. Cosden, Jr. from 1966-67, to Jack Ryan from 1975-76, to Michael O'Hara from 1976-83, to Felipe de Alba in 1983 and Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt from 1986 to her death.

While she was often the subject of tabloid fodder, she was very self-aware. One of her most famous lines included her response to "How many husbands have you had?", with the actress wryly responding, "You mean other than my own?" She also made the news in 1989 for slapping a police officer in Los Angeles, an incident she would go on to parody on the big screen.

Gabor's celebrity status has since been considered the predecessor to modern-day celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Paris, whose great-grandfather was Gabor's second husband, paid tribute to the icon on Twitter:

Gabor joins a list of numerous Hollywood icons that have died this year, including David Bowie, Prince, Alan Thicke, Florence Henderson, Muhammad Ali, Gene Wilder, Garry Marshall, Patty Duke, Doris Roberts, Garry Shandling and more.
