Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have only been dating for about a year, but already, a source claims the former One Direction singer recently proposed.

According to a new report, Hadid, who recently walked the runway for Victoria's Secret for the second time, turned down the singer's proposal because she feels she's simply too young to settle down.

"She’s only 21 and doesn’t feel ready to tie the knot, so she turned him down," a source told Life & Style magazine, according to a report by the Daily Mail on Thursday. "She's seen her mom go through two messy divorces, so Gigi wants to make 100 per cent sure Zayn's the one before she makes a lifetime commitment."

Earlier this year, after Malik went public with what he referred to as "the worst anxiety of [his] life," he and Hadid called it quits briefly as he canceled multiple public appearances.

"They broke up and got back together almost right away," a source told Us Weekly at the time. "Right now, it’s back on, but it could be off again in an hour. They are young and keep going back and forth. Things are testy between them."

“He wants to stay home and hang out, but she loves the limelight,” said the pal. “She loves attention and he hates it. An introvert and an extrovert; we all saw it coming.”
