Camila Cabello is releasing new music in 2017, as she proceeds with her solo career away from Fifth Harmony.

Just a few days after it was announced that Cabello was leaving Fifth Harmony, it has now been revealed that the singer is working on her first solo album. A source claimed to Entertainment Weekly in a new report that she is set to release her first album in 2017.

Billboard is also reporting that Cabello has some sessions booked in the studio for January, with a possible first single in March or April and the album in the summer.

Meanwhile, Cabello has been pretty silent since releasing a statement Monday about leaving the group. The singer noted that Fifth Harmony's previous statement was posted without her knowing and said that their suggesting she informed them she was leaving through her representatives was "simply not true."

While Cabello hasn't posted anything regarding the news on social media since Monday, the rest of Fifth Harmony took to Instagram to fan the flames even more. The group wrote about how they requested meetings with Cabello to discuss their future, to which she never showed up. They also requested group counseling, which she also did not attend, according to them.

"We were truly hurt. We've been together for almost five years, been through ups and downs... While this isn't the way any one of us would have wanted this chapter in our lives to have ended, we had to begin to formulate a plan and constructive path for Fifth Harmony to move forward, beyond Camila," the group wrote.

Cabello has dabbled in a solo career over the past two years, and has so far proven to be successful. The singer went platinum with her duet with Shawn Mendes, "I Know What You Did Last Summer", and she currently has a single with Machine Gun Kelly, "Bad Things", which is charting high as well.
