A full year has passed since reality star Teresa Giudice was released from prison, so how is she coping these days?

Giudice is apparently "thriving" at home, according to her attorney, James J. Leonard Jr. He explained as much in a new statement to People, even as husband, Joe Giudice, is serving time.

"She misses Joe a lot," Leonard said.

However, a source close to the family told People that Teresa is "still so happy to be home and to be there for her girls."

Teresa served almost a year in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, CT (which also happens to be the location that inspired Orange Is the New Black), getting out on Dec. 23, 2015. Leonard explained how this past year has been a turbulent one:

"I think the last year was a whirlwind for Teresa. She left Danbury at 5 a.m. and was filming 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' less than two hours later," he explained. "Her book 'Turning The Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back' came out in February and made 'The New York Times' bestseller list and then Joe went away in March. So this has been a very eventful year full of highs and lows, but she is doing amazing."

Teresa keeps in contact with Joe regularly, with the source saying, "They talk by phone and email each other every day," in addition to regular visits. "He talks to the girls all the time, too."

And speaking of their girls, Teresa is always busy running them around to their various extracurricular activities, while also working towards achieving a yoga certification, a trade she picked up in prison.

"She will be getting her certification in the next year," Leonard revealed. "She loves yoga. It has been amazing for her this past year."

Meanwhile, the most recent season of Bravo's The Real Housewives of New Jersey aired this summer into the fall. The season began with Teresa's return from prison and concluded with her planning out her financial future. Both she and Joe were convicted for fraud charges.
