Things have been tense in the Forrester family ever since Eric (John McCook) married Quinn (Rena Sofer), and even though they all said they had other plans and their not attending the traditional Christmas celebration had nothing to do with the marriage, the fact that no one else is showing up will upset Eric on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Rick (Jacob Young) and Maya (Karla Mosley) wanted to celebrate their daughter Lizzy's first Christmas as a family, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was celebrating his engagement with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and RJ (Anthony Turpel), and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Liam (Scott Clifton) wanted to enjoy their reunion alone. But after Rick and Maya head to Brooke's to spend the time with her and Ridge, Rick will wonder if Eric is taking the fact that no one is coming personally, and thinking it's a repeat of the wedding.

"I don't want dad thinking that we're boycotting," Rick says in a preview clip for the Friday, Dec. 23 episode.

"Don't sat that. This is totally different, we've got our own thing," Ridge replies.

However, while Eric can understand everyone wanting to do their own thing, he is still hurt that they aren't keeping with tradition, specifically the one where they all gathered to sing Christmas carols together. Finally, after some encouragement from Quinn and Wyatt (Darin Brooks), he will ask his family to put their other plans, and their resentment for Quinn, aside, just for the one tradition.

"What do you say, you all come over here for a quick Christmas Carol? We'll keep it short and traditional," he says in the clip.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m. on CBS.
