Samsung fans have been waiting for the latest version of Android Nougat. Nonetheless, some of Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Note 5 users will receive either Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

According to Mobile & Apps, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge devices in Australia are to obtain the old Android 7.0 Nougat update. The said information was confirmed by a representative for Australia's Vodafone. As a matter of fact in a community forum for Vodafone, a Help and Support wrote a replied to a customer's inquiry which states, "I've checked in with the right people for you @chri5tin3 and @shauno100, and they've confirmed the references to Samsung skipping 7.0 refer to other markets and not to Australia. We're definitely testing 7.0 for both devices."

It can be remembered that Samsung Electronics has already announced that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge's updates should be based on Android 7.1.1. The said firmware upgrade will major improvements and fixes to issues that weren't addressed in Android 7.0. Nevertheless, it wasn't revealed why the devices in Australia won't receive the latest update.

Additionally, Yibada stated in its article that it is not identified as to what are the models, as well as the regions of the world will obtain either Android 7.1.1 Nougat or Android 7.0 Nougat.

Aside from that, it is also not clear what will be the status for the older devices which are anticipated to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat following its rollout to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S7, namely the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5. At first, it is believed that these models would skip straight to Android 7.1.1 Nougat but then it now appears to be uncertain as the roll out of the upgrades may vary by region and model.

With the roll out of Android 7.0 and 7.1.1 Nougat to Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Note 5 devices being uncertain it seems that a lot of users will be disappointed. Moreover, it may be best for the South Korean company to release a roadmap for the firmware updates.
