With the success of the first movie adaptation of E.L. James' best-selling novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, fans of the series are now looking forward to the second installment, Fifty Shades Darker. The movie is of course just a few months away, which means that a lot more information about the movie is becoming available.

The first movie itself grossed over $571 million worldwide, far more that what was originally expected by critics and fans of the novel series. Given its success, the second installment is expected to do much of the same as it will continue the rather peculiar love story of Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson, and Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan.

According to a report from Coming Soon, the next movie will be seeing the return of most of the original cast members of the first movie. Aside from Johnson and Dornan, fans should expect to see the return of Marcia Gay Harden, as Christian's Mom, Luke Grimes, as Elliot, Rita Ora, as Mia, Victor Razuk, as Jose, Max Martini, as Taylo, and Eloise Mumford, as Anastasia's best friend Kate.

Fans should also expect to see some new faces in the next movie which will include Hugh Dancy as Christian's psychiatrist, as well as two of Christian's ex-lovers, Elena and Leila, to be played by Kim Basinger and Bella Heathcote, respectively.

Aside from the new characters, the second movie will apparently be helmed by a different director and a different screenwriter. A report from Digital Spy reveals that Fifty Shades of Grey director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, has been replaced by director James Foley. The previous movie's screenwriter, Kelly Marcel, has also left the project and has been replaced by movie scribe, Niall Leonard.

Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to be released worldwide on Feb. 10, 2017. The date was intentionally chosen to make the movie a good post-valentine film that can be watched by partners before Valentine's Day.
