Drake isn't only busy working on his upcoming third album Nothing Was The Same, he is doing a little acting too.

The rapper was outside of New York City's Radio City music hall this week, filming scenes for the sequel to Anchorman. With a big afro, the rapper had an appearance far different than what fans are used to. Aside from his new hairdo, he was also wearing a leather jacket, a gold chain, black and white Adidas sneakers and had very noticeable sideburns.

Drake also posted a photo on his Instagram standing next to the film's producer. "Me and one of my heroes Judd Apatow," he wrote as the caption.

Playing this retro character for the movie, however, won't be the first time the Canadian native has done acting. Before starting his rap career, Drake also played Jimmy Brooks on the popular Canadian TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation.

The rapper filmed the same day as returning cast members Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate who both wore coats with a fur trim.

Yet, Drake isn't the only rapper who has filmed cameos for the sequel. Kanye West also filmed some scenes in Atlanta, Georgia, earlier this month.

There is no word on what roles both Drake and West will have in the movie.

Anchorman The Legend Continues, will hit theaters on December 20. Returning to the cast is also Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, and David Koechner, who all played together in the 2004 comedy.

The sequel, which comes nine years after the original, will also have some new cast members including Kristen Wiig, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler. Although not usually known for playing comedic roles, Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson will also join the cast.
