The death of the musical icon and Wham! singer, George Michael, came as a shock to many fans across the globe, most especially due his dying at a relatively young age. The death of the English singer, songwriter and record producer on Christmas morning a month ago is also still shrouded in mystery as post-mortem tests are still pretty much inconclusive.

In his passing, the singer left a substantial amount of money and assets, estimated to be somewhere around $125 million. The estimated worth of his wealth still doesn't even include his several art businesses. According to IBTimes, the estimated figure was revealed by entertainment attorney, Donald David, who also represented several high-profile celebrities, including Tupac Shakur, Wu Tang Clan member Russell Jones, and TLC singer Lisa Lopez.

Majority of the wealth accumulated by the artists, whose real name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, was from his album sales. During his 40 years in the business, Michael was revealed to have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, since George Michael does not have any direct heir to his fortune, majority of his assets will be divided amongst his godchildren, his friends and some of his relatives. The report reveals that his godchildren are mostly the offspring of his close friends in the show business.

Some of his godchildren includes Roman and Harley Kemp, children of his former bandmates Shirlie and Martin. Some of his fortune will also go to the goddaughter of his ex-boyfriend, Geri Horner's daughter, Bluebell.

As for the assets under his name, Michael owned several million dollar properties in different countries. Among these is a $9.8 million house in London, a $6.1 million home in Oxfordshire, a $4 million estate in Los Angeles, and a $4.3 beach house in Sydney.

George Michael had also supported different charity organizations in his lifetime, including Terrence Higgins Trust and Childline. Some of his assets are expected to be distributed among his supported organizations as well.
