As the NBA trade deadline nears, many teams are now moving and positioning themselves. Waiting for possible players that will put in the trading block and getting ready for trade offers to opposing teams. And one of the said to be available player on the trade market is Brandon Knight and it seems that the Orlando Magic is a possible destination for him.

The Phoenix Suns are coming off big wins against the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks. But still, they are the lower half of the Western Conference standing holding a 12-25 win-loss record and sitting at the 13th spot. With a loaded backcourt, one who suffers cutting his minutes is Knight.

Knight is a reliable point guard for former Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek last season averaging 19.6 points, 5.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds. But when new head coach Earl Watson took over for Hornacek, Knight was relegated to the bench seeing his production go down with 12.6 points, 2.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game due to lack of playing minutes.

Reports are now saying that the Orlando Magic are looking for a true point guard to stabilize their offense and it looks like Knight could be the best option for them. According to CBSSports, the Magic have gathered solid players last summer with the likes of Bismack Biyombo and Serge Ibaka to make them competitive but it seems that it is not working wonders for them.

The point guard is also a problem for the Magic as D.J. Augustin and Elfrid Payton falter to stabilize their backcourt. With that being said, trading for Brandon Knight is viable choice for them. Aside from that, they are in the 28th spot in terms of offensive rating and Knight will definitely be a big boost on that department for them.

FOXSports also pointed out that Knight could be the focal point of the offense for the Magic. He is a combo guard who is known for his offensive explosiveness. He is a bulk scorer and can run the offense efficiently just what the stats say to him last season. However, the downside for the Magic is the big paycheck that Knight will bring to them but Knight is a talented player worth risking.

Nevertheless, the alleged deal between the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns are still speculative and none of the teams have commented on this. But surely we can still hear the name of Brandon Knight swirling around the rumor mills before the trade deadline expires.
