They have only recently reunited after she faked her death, but Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller) will give their marriage a genuine chance to survive by attempting to reconnect during a special date night on Days of Our Lives.

The pair's marriage was ripped apart early on, as Abigail began succombing to psychosis over fears that Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) had come back and would kill her and take Thomas. After she fled from the institution she was in, she worked with Andre (Thaao Penghlis) to fake her death so she could recover and return to Chad when she was better. She emerged on Christmas, taking Chad by surprise, especially since he had already moved on with Gabi (Camila Banus).

Chad was also deeply hurt by her betrayal, and the fact that several people has become aware she was alive, but no one told him. Despite the tension from that, he still gave in somewhat on New Year's when Abigail attempted to seduce him. And though he put a stop to them actually making love, he did decide he would try to focus on making things work with her again for the sake of their son, as well as their history and the love they share.

Now, the two will take things further by having a date night together, in the hopes that it will lead to them reconnecting in the way they need to if there is any hope of them overcoming Abigail's stunt. And though things will definitely be awkward for them, there may be some hope since the passion they have for each other does most definitely still exist. But it may be a long while before the two can genuinely move past things and become a true husband and wife again.
