The album is being produced by Steve Mac, Benny Blanco, Johnny McDaid and Sheeran himself.

Sheeran's first two singles, "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill", have received mixed to positive reviews from music critics.

"'Castle on the Hill' has U2-influenced nervous guitar build and wistful, largely generic lyrics about the people who shaped him," says The New York Times. "'Shape of You' is trickier, a nimble and effective song that takes the aggressive thinning of Caribbean music that Justin Bieber rode to pop success and runs it through a sieve five or 10 more times, leaving only the barest essence, then adds some acoustic guitar at the end as some combination of young-person taunt and old-person dog whistle."

"I really wanted to show two different sides to my music that I'm equally passionate about," Sheeran said in a statement about the more rhythmic "Shape of You" and the arena-friendly "Castle on the Hill".

÷ will be released on March 10.
