She appears to be happily dating The Weeknd, a welcome change from the on/off drama she experienced with Justin Bieber for over five years, but Selena Gomez's new relationship seems to be causing some drama already when it comes to a friendship with Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella-The Weeknd's ex.

Bella and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) broke up back in November before heading to Paris to film the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. And though there wasn't any indication to former couple was looking to reunite, it appears Hadid wasn't happy when photos surfaced on TMZ that showed Gomez and The Weeknd making out outside a restaurant.

According to E!, after the photos, taken outside Santa Monica hotspot Georgio Baldi, surfaced, Bella unfollowed Gomez on Instagram mere hours later. However, though Gomez and The Weeknd wanted to initially keep things quiet about their romance, they are now ready to go public.

"At first, Selena and Abel wanted to keep their relationship a secret," a source told the website. "But they've decided they really don't care if everyone knows about them."

The two are also not taking things too fast or serious, and are just enjoying their time together for now.

"They are on the same level with expectations and think the other is really fun,: the source said. "They are taking things slow and getting to know each other."

And as it turns out, though neither one was really looking to get into a new relationship (Gomez and Bieber ended their long back and forth relationship earlier in 2016), The Weeknd "always had a thing for Selena," which helped prompt the new pairing.

Following her official split from Bieber and the pair having it out on Instagram over the summer, Gomez took a break in 2016 from both dating and music, focusing on her health. Her triumphant return to the spotlight is still going on, but was kicked off by her appearance at the American Music Awards in November, where she won Favorite Female Artist-Pop/Rock.

Though Bella's decision to no longer follow Gomez on Instagram after the relationship news broke seems to be a reaction to the pair's romance, it is unclear if her sister, Gigi, will follow suit.
