Eva Longoria Graduates PHOTOS & VIDEO; Actress Gets Master's From California University

Eva Longoria is now a master!

The actress recently picked up her degree from California State University, Northridge. She now has an M.A. in Chicano and Chicana Studies.

Longoria attended her ceremony Wednesday after making the long trip back from the Cannes Film Festival. She posted photos on her WhoSay account smiling in her cap and gown and posing with her fellow graduates from the program.

Longoria enrolled in 2009 and earned the degree while continuing her work on Desperate Housewives; she even attended her classes in person. TMZ reported that the actress entitled her thesis Success STEMS From Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers. The acronym STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. The actress told E! News she worked right up to the last minute to complete the project.

To celebrate her graduation Longoria went out to dinner with her family.

Celebrity friends of the actress took to Twitter to give their congratulation for the new M.A.

Longoria's former Desperate Housewives co-star Marcia Cross tweeted, "Huge congratulations on your graduation today!!!! From Canne to Cap and Gown. You are really something."

Actress Garcelle Beauvais simply wrote, "Proud of you Eva."

The actress accompanied her WhoSay pictures with an inspiring message: "You're never too old or too busy to continue your education!"

Longoria, who previously attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville, also has tried to bring that same message to other Latina students through her charitable organization, The Eva Longoria Foundation. The foundation provides support to programs aimed towards helping Latinas excel in secondary and tertiary education. It also assists efforts for mentoring, career training and entrepreneurship.

While at Cannes attending the premiere of Jimmy P.: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian, the actress suffered a wardrobe malfunction. When attempting to shield her minty green Atelier Versace dress from an oncoming rain storm, she accidentally revealed a bit more thigh than intended.

She took the incident in stride and tweeted a picture of herself in the next day's gown, along with the cheeky message, "Here's my dress for tonight! No wardrobe malfunctions tonight!!!"
