Their romance has only just gone public and allegedly led to a rift between Selena Gomez and the Hadid sisters, but Justin Bieber reportedly has his own thoughts about his ex-girlfriend's new relationship with The Weeknd.

According to TMZ, the 'Sorry' singer, who famously had an on/off relationship with Gomez for five years, and famously had a blow-up with her last summer when she told him to stop posting photos of himself and then-girlfriend Sophia Richie on Instagram if he didn't want fans leaving negative comments, believes Gomez is only going public with the superstar (real name Abel Tesfaye) as they work on new music together, something a source alleged she has done before.

The website claims that Bieber feels it's a pattern Gomez exhibits, where she dates the stars she wants to collaborate with when she wants to make new music, and it was something she did with him, Nick Jonas, and Zedd.

Gomez hasn't commented on the report, though she doesn't have any songs where she seemed to collaborate with either Bieber or Jonas, though she did work with Zedd on his song "I Want You To Know" in 2015.

Meanwhile, other reports on the pair's romance indicate things have been going well, and that Gomez feels more into her new relationship than she ever has with her past ones.

"Selena is feeling things she never felt before with The Weeknd. The relationship with Abel is fresh and new for Selena, but she can tell things are completely different from any of her previous relationships," a source told Hollywood Life.

"For the first time in a long time, Selena has her confidence back and she credits that to having Abel in her life. She is healthier than she has been in a long time and having an honest relationship has a lot to do with her feeling so strong. Abel makes Selena feel secure and she sees this as her first mature relationship as an adult," the source continued.
