His girlfriend Olivia Munn is often cited as a reason for Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers being estranged from his family, but a new report indicates the feud with his family actually stems from a battle with his brother Jordan.

The estrangement and feud within the family, which began in 2014 around the same time the QB started dating Munn, was thrust into the public spotlight when Jordan appeared on The Bachelorette in 2016, telling eventual fiancee JoJo Fletcher that she wouldn't meet his famous brother because he hadn't spoken to the family in years. Now, according to People Magazine, the brothers always battling one another was what led to the eventual rift within the family.

"[They] have always been competitive, and they're always trying to one-up each other," a source close to the QB told the magazine. "It's been that way since they were kids. They got older, and the stakes got higher."

According to the source, those tensions only continued to escalate between the two, which eventually led to a blow-up that turned into the estrangement, and the rest of the family became involved when their parents tried to intervene and get them to fix things-and since then, the going public with the issue has only added to the drama.

"It wasn't an argument about anything all that interesting, Some things were said on both sides that were regrettable," the source said. "Their parents got involved in the middle of it. Everyone needed a cooling-off period. It could have ended there, but some people chose to go public with it, rather than keeping it a private family matter. And here we are."

As for the Packers QB, who is currently one game away from helping lead his team to the Super Bowl, the source says the renewed interest and news about his family is an annoyance, but he's not trying to let it ruin his focus on his big games.

"He's all about practice," the source said. "He has a real shot of taking it all, and that's where he's focusing his energy."
