Fifty Shades Darker will be out in February and now it has come out that a musical adaptation of the erotic book and film franchise might also be on the cards for the much-awaited sequel of Fifty Shades of Grey.

It is said that Fifty Shades of Grey: The Musical is being considered to be produced on Broadway and West End. The author of the trilogy, E.L. James has hinted at the musical being considered for production. She admitted that there has been some talk about a musical based on her literary work but refused to divulge any further details. James did not give out the names of the people she is supposedly negotiating with.

All she said was that someone had asked her about the musical. On being asked if it was moving forward, she said who knows and also stated that one should never say never, claims The Sun.

However, a theater insider says that the supposed musical would attract hen parties as well as curiosity seekers if it ever gets made. According to the insider, it could be the sort of thing that hen parties will flock to with all the steamy scenes and tourists will love it as well.

It may be noted here that Fifty Shades of Grey became a sensation when it hit the bookstands. The erotic saga gained more popularity when the movie released in 2015.

And now that the sequel Fifty Shades Darker is coming, the musical news has come as a delight to fans. Nevertheless, it is on expected lines especially after Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift's collaboration, claims Digital Spy.

For those who are not aware Malik and Swift have sung the track, I Don't Wanna Live Forever for the upcoming sequel. The video of the duo singing the track was also released a few days back on the occasion of Malik's birthday.

Before that, Ellie Goulding had sung Love Me Like You Do for the first movie and thus, the music of the movies has been already making waves. If the musical also finds its way, which it should given the hype the franchise has created, it would easily become a smash hit.

Fifty Shades Darker arrives in theaters February 10. In the meantime, watch the official extended trailer below.
