Among the television series that are coming back this month after the holiday hiatus is The CW's fantasy adventure drama, Supernatural, which is set to air its remaining episodes for the show's season 12.

Eversince the series aired its most recent episode last month, fans have been anticipating for their favorite characters to return on televisions. Several updates and speculations have also been appearing online regarding on the possible events that the fans might expect.

According to a report from Deadline, the show is going to welcome another member that will join the cast. Modern Family actor David Haydn Jones will join the cast of the twelfth season of Supernatural as he portrays the new member of the British Men of Letters that was later found out to be the character Mr. Ketch.

As per the aforementioned source, Mr. Ketch will be an associate of the British Men of Letters - an organization of monster hunters that is operating in the United Kingdom. It was hinted that the character personality includes him being handsome and competent but it was mentioned that the character is also a sociopath.

Aside from this news, it was also reported by MTV that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan returns on the show to reprise his role as John Winchester, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam's (Jared Padalecki) father and Mary Winchester's (Samantha Smith) husband.

Morgan confirmed this news on Friday when he tweeted a photo on his official Twitter account, where he mentioned his television sons, actors Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, indirectly saying that he's coming back. It can be recalled that he was already in Supernatural before Morgan went on to be the antagonist of AMC's The Walking Dead as Negan.

The most recent episode, episode 8, which aired last year ended with the Winchester brothers getting arrested for being wrongly accused of trying to assassinate the President of the US. International Business Times reported that the most-awaited upcoming episode will show the brothers' struggles inside the prison and how they will get out of there.

But aside from this, the upcoming episodes of the twelfth season will also show Dean with another problem involving his memory. When asked about the fatality of Dean's memory lost, one of the show's executive producer, Andrew Dabb, explained that the character is not physically de-ageing. He is reportedly just trapped in a Memento-type loop, where he temporarily loses his memory.

Because of this, viewers are also expected to see Dean on a more childlike and easygoing personality, which is the result of the freeing feeling he feels while he temporarily has memory loss.

Supernatural season 12 episode 9 is scheduled to air on January 26, 2017 on The CW.
