The Originals Season 4 will debut in two months and though Season 5 is still awaiting renewal, it seems like there is hope for fans of the series.

The CW President has hinted at the same but it will depend on the performance of the coming season. The Originals Season 5 may not have received a renewal announcement but if The CW President Mark Pedowitz is to be believed, there is scope for a fifth season as well, reports Hollywood Reporter.

According to Pedowitz, the fifth season is possible but it depends on how well the show performs. If it delivers good ratings to the network, there is every chance that the spinoff of The Vampire Diaries will get a revival and the people behind the show may reveal the plan in May.

As for the upcoming Season 4, the trailer is out and spoilers indicate at a reunion between Marcel and Klaus. The two will finally face each other again. This encounter will happen after Marcel stabled the original hybrid with Papa Tunde's blade. The reckoning between the two main characters also holds hopes for healing some wounds, claims TV Line.

The preview of The Originals Season 4 suggests a reunion between Hayley and Elijah as well and it is going to serve as one of the emotional cores of the season. However, Hayley's daughter Hope might complicate their relationship.

Hope is smart like her mother but may or may not have the temper of her father and the urge to protect her family at any cost. She has grown up to become a strong member of Mikaelsons and will become a central character in the times to come.

Among others, Freya will ultimately find a new love interest and it will see her undergoing an emotional journey that will be no less than a struggle. The journey, in turn, will open a whole new dimension for her character. Speaking of journey, Rebekah also has one in store and Narducci has promised that fans will get to see Claire Holt for about half of the season.

The Originals Season 4 returns on 17 March, Friday on The CW. In the meantime, watch the official teaser below.
