Rumors of the Apple iPad Pro tablet releasing in a few months have been ramping up as of late. However, new reports are now suggesting that consumers probably will not just be getting a new version of the tablet, but a new accessory as well, in the form of the second generation Apple Pencil 2.

The accessory itself hasn't really seen much limelight in the rumor reports space in the past couple of months. However, a report from Tech Times has cited a newly leaked post from the Chinese Twitter-equivalent, Weibo, which may have given some hints of its possible specs and features.

First and foremost, the leak apparently reveals that the new Apple Pencil 2 may be released alongside the long-awaited new iPad Pro tablets. The tablets are of course expected to be launched sometime in spring of this year. While the tablets may be the main focus of the alleged launch event, Apple is expected to allocate a good amount of time in presenting the features and capabilities of the new input accessory.

Apple Pencil 2 Alleged Features

The latest generation device is rumored to be coming with an all new magnetic system that will let users attach the accessory to the iPad tablet, as also reported by Tech Radar. The feature will make it easier for users to secure their Pencil while it is not yet in use. Another big change that is allegedly going to be coming is a new changeable tip feature that will let users interchange different nibs with varying sensors.

The Weibo leak goes on to reveal that the new Apple Pencil 2 may be coming with additional sensors on the device itself which will let users shift to different functions that will include an eraser. With the additional sensors, the Pencil can also reportedly function as an input accessory that can detect different gestures even when it is not touching the surface of the iPad itself.

Majority of the claims are of course still pretty much just speculation, which means that users will have to wait for Apple to officially unveil the Apple Pencil 2 in spring.
