Publicist Jonathan Jaxson said he called police Thursday night after he had proof that Amanda Bynes was suicidal.

The Hollywood actress was arrested that day and taken to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation after she threw a bong out the window of her apartment in front of police.

Although the New York Police Department has not confirmed any report regarding Bynes' alleged suicide threat, sources from law enforcement told NBC News they responded to a call reporting a disorderly person. The actress was seen smoking in the lobby of her apartment.

Authorities charged Bynes in evidence tampering, reckless endangerment and marijuana possession

"It's been a long few hours," Jaxson told Radar Online, after news of Bynes' arrest became known to the press. "I got police to be able to go to her home. I am told they found drugs and other things. I had proof she was suicidal. There were text messages and other things. I repeated all of this to the NYPD and they took it seriously."

Jaxson tweeted that he believes the arrest to have been a successful intervention, despite Twitter fans calling him out as an "attention whore", and one tweeting on Friday, "what intervention? Your "I am going to humiliate you in public" intervention? Yeah, good job."
