Steve Nash's ex-wife Alejandra Amarilla has claimed that she was banned from moving to Los Angeles so that the NBA player can avoid paying child support for their three children.

According to court documents filed by Amarilla obtained by TMZ, she said that she wants to move from Phoenix to Los Angeles so that the children can be closer to their father.

Amarilla said Nash was against the move because he feared he might be traded or forced to retire, which would break up the family again. Amarilla believes that Nash is lying and thinks the real reason he wants her to stay in Phoenix is because California courts will likely enforce child support obligations against him, which is not the case in Phoenix.

Amarilla claimed that Nash has yet to pay any child support, as the laws in Phoenix does not mandate him to.

According to the Huffington Post, Nash feels like he shouldn't pay Amarilla child support because he thinks that his estraged wife is already getting enough money to take care of this kids and too much money will spoil their children.

At  the time, an Arizona judge ruled in his favor.

"I'm focused on ensuring that our children understand how much they're loved and adored by us as they continue to adjust to these changes," he said at the time.

The current Lakers point guard and Amarilla wed back in 2005. Life & Style magazine reported that in 2010, just one day after the birth of the couple's son, Nash announced that they were getting a divorce.

"This is a bittersweet moment for my wife and I; after five years, we are now in the process of dissolving our marriage," he said in a statement.

Amarilla said Nash's decision to live so far away from the family has hurt her and wants the children to spend more time with him.

Currently due to a restraining order, Amarilla cannot move to Los Angeles until their trial, which is scheduled for next week, TMZ noted.
