NBA superstar Tim Duncan is in the middle of a divorce with his wife Amy Duncan, according to reports.

The San Antonio Express-News reported that the Spurs center and his wife have recently filed papers for divorce. According to documents obtained by the publication, the divorce was filed over two months ago in a San Antonio court that included only the initials A.S.D. and T.T.D. The 37-year-old basketball player's middle name is Theodore.

Other reports noted that the paperwork listed the couple's wedding date around July 21, 2001 which is said to be when the wedding took place. The paperwork also cited that the couple have two children together, whose birthdays coincide with the dates listed on the divorce filing.

TMZ reported that Tim wants to postpone the divorce proceedings. In a request filed last week, the Spurs player asked that the case be postponed until after the Spurs' last playoff game.

Tim and Amy were college sweethearts who started their romance at Wake Forest University.  Tim played on the basketball team at the school and Amy was a cheerleader.  Tim graduated from the university in 1997 and was the first overall pick in the NBA draft, made by San Antonio.

Unfortunately for the couple, their 12-year marriage has come to an end. Amy initially filed papers in which she said the marriage had become "insupportable because of discord and conflict."

In separate documents filed by Duncan, he revealed that the couple signed a prenup which he wants enforced. He also said that he hopes to come to an agreement with his estranged wife that will benefit their two children, according to TMZ.

Meanwhile off the court, Duncan has helped his team to a 2-0 series win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Game 3 will be played on Saturday.
