Jamie Anne Allman Twins: Recalls Awful Pregnancy and Premature Birth
Jamie Anne Allman has spoken out about her difficult pregnancy and the birth of her twin boys.
Married to True Blood's Marshall Allman, The Killing actress gave birth to fraternal twins on January 31 - 81 days prior to the scheduled due date, according to People.
Asher and Oliver were delivered by C-section and moved to the neonatal intensive care unit, staying at the hospital until early April. Oliver was born weighing 2 lbs., 11 oz., while his fraternal brother Asher weighed in at 3 lbs., reports Us Weekly. The twins were discharged at a healthy 7 lbs, 7 oz., and 8 lbs. 1 oz., respectively.
Due to a shortened cervix and gestational diabetes, Jamie Anne was on bed rest for a large portion of her pregnancy. However, that did not help maters completely.
"I puked seven to 12 times a day, and then I peed my pants every time I puked," Jamie Anne told Us Weekly. "I popped blood vessels all around my eyes from every time I vomited, and if I moved slightly I would puke, so I couldn't really walk to the bathroom."
While her husband stayed by her side through the pregnancy and delivery, he passed out and vomited in the delivery room following the birth of his sons.
"I was so nervous because I wanted to help him and I couldn't do anything," Jamie Anne said, according to the SFGate. "So I just said, 'You gotta get out of here!' He started crawling out of the operating room on all fours. We'll never forget that one because he videotaped the babies coming out, and right when they came out, boom! The camera stops."
However, the new parents report that both boys are now home and healthy.
