The Vampire Diaries Season 8 executive producer Julie Plec, on the other hand, said that she is now excited to end the supernatural-fantasy horror the way they want to with the appearance of Nina Dobrev. "I'm so excited to have Nina back to ensure our farewell episode is truly epic!" another EP Kevin Williamson told TVLine.

The Bulgarian-Canadian is often seen in the television series lately through flashbacks, but she hasn't filmed any new episodes since her exit in 2015. However, she has now recorded a new audio for the show's season finale where Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) imitated her character as Elena to attract Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to go inside the Armory vault.

Julie Plec revealed that she talked to Nina Dobrev and told her that they can either do patch her scenes or she can personally appear and see everyone. Fortunately, "she chose to do it in person" adding that it was nice to have a personal visit from her on the set of The Vampire Diaries Season 8.

Meanwhile, the CW president Mark Pedowitz the show's executive producer Plec also insisted that the appearance of The Roommate actress in the television series is a must, according to Hollywood Reporter. The Vampire Diaries Season 8 finale episode will air on March 10 on The CW.
