Apple has always been known to be a company that immediately jumps into any technological opportunity that it deems to be a profitable market. The company has thus far been dabbling in different areas including wearables, cars, artificial intelligence systems, and other up and coming markets. However, a recently uncovered Apple patent has now hinted at the possibility that the company may be planning build their very own e-cigarette or vaporizer unit.

According to Mac World, the recently published patent application by Apple seems to showcase a new vaporizer unit that has been designed to increase the efficiency of the heating process. The patent diagrams even shows a design that heats up a liquid to very high temperatures, which then vaporizes it with maximum efficiency with the least amount of loss due to cooling.

The patent itself was also revealed to have been filed back in June of last year, with it being released just this month by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Apart from the diagrams, the patent really doesn't reveal any details on the materials that are being used or the purpose of the device itself. However, several reports have speculated that there is really no other use for such a device aside from it being a vaporizing unit for the vape industry.

As per a report from Digital Trends, this is apparently not the first time Apple has been linked to the vaping industry itself. Former Apple developer, Mark Williams, previously left the company to start his own high-end vape company called Firefly.

The top-of-the-line products that the company builds is considered to be the pinnacle of vaping technology as it is able to heat up e-liquids up to 400 degrees, resulting in a smoother and better tasting smoke. Firefly's products however are not really meant for typical entry-level vapers as a vaporizer unit from the Firefly will costs upwards of $300.
