Fans should expect to be left guessing once again when season 7 of Game of Thrones comes to an end, if star Maisie Williams is to be believed.

In a new interview with Time Out, WIlliams, who portrays the younger Stark daughter Arya, revealed that season seven would be one that fans would notice was building everything back up for the conclusion in season eight, and it would end in a way no one would expect.

"It's just kind of tumbling now," she said. "We've come to the climax and it's rolling down to the end. It's exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season everything was set up for how it was going to end. Every character came to a little junction in their lives. Now we're all going to crash down together to however this show ends."

When asked what else could be expected, Williams then laughed and said "a huge cliffhanger."

If the season were to end on a cliffhanger, it would once again likely be one which revolved around a character's death, similarly to how season 5 ended in 2015, after Jon Snow (Kit Harington) appeared to die after being betrayed and stabbed by brothers of the Night's Watch who disapproved of his bringing Wildings beyond the Wall. Season 6 opened with confirmation he was dead, though he was later brought back to life by Melisandre (Carice Van Houten), and went on to defeat Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) and take back Winterfell for his family, with the Northern Lords declaring him to be the new "King in the North."

Of course, Williams being the one to share this information now and often being a cast member giving interviews doesn't necessarily bode well for her character. In the lead-up to previous seasons, cast members who's characters were then killed were often giving the most interviews, with Natalie Dormer, who portrayed Margaery Tyrell the most recent example of it, having given a bevy of interviews before season six, and then seeing her character killed when Cersei (Lena Headey) unleashed wildfire on the Sept of Baelor.

However, if Williams does see Arya live to season 8, she does have one idea of something she would do with some of her fellow remaining cast members at that point.

"There are rumours," she said. "That if you make it from season one to season eight there's a tattoo that we all get. We're all waiting to see if we do make it. I was lucky enough to be in season one, even the pilot episode. If I do make it to season eight I will get it. It would be rude not to!"

If the season one characters who still remain on the show do all survive season seven, the ones who could be eligible for the ink would include Harington, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Headey, Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Isaac Hampstead-Wright (Bran Stark), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont), Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish), Conleth Hill (Varys) and John Bradley-West (Samwell Tarly).

Game of Thrones season 7 airs this summer on HBO.
