Rush Limbaugh's apology for calling a student seeking health care coverage for contraception a "slut" is doing little in the way of damage control -- advertisers are scrambling to yank spots from the conservative talk show host's radio show.

To date, 10 sponsors have pulled their ads, distancing their brands from the outspoken personality who many -- including President Obama -- believe went way over the line in depicting Sandra Fluke as a prostitute who "wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex." AOL, QuickenLoans, Sleep Number, ProFlowers, Legal Zoom, Citrix Systems, Sleep Train, Tax Resolution, Carbonite and the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team have all reportedly jumped ship.

After Fluke, a Georgetown University law student, spoke before a congressional committee in support of coverage for birth control last week, Limbaugh said, "What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception."

Democrats and Republicans alike denounced Limbaugh, and the president called Fluke to offer his support.

Limbaugh issued an apology of sorts over the weekend, saying his "choice of words was not the best." Fluke said on ABC's The View today that Limbaugh's apology doesn't change anything and was only made under mounting pressure from fleeing sponsors. Fluke also said she has no desire to speak with Limbaugh about the incident.

Radio and TV host Don Imus referred to Limbaugh's apology as "lame" today, calling Limbaugh "an insincere pig" who launched a sustained "vile, personal attack" on Fluke.
