After being rejected on the Bachelor, Desiree Hartsock is back as The Bachelorette 2013.

The 27-year-old bridal designer from Colorado landed the lead role in the 9th season of the matchmaking show. As she searches for love, Desiree will have 25 eligible bachelors to choose from.

With a two-hour season premiere, Desiree faced her fair share of ups and downs in the first episode alone.

After growing up in an apartment, Desiree found her new pad overwhelming as host Chris Harrison showed her the Malibu mansion where the first episode kicked off. Along with the spacious abode, Desiree was outfitted with a new convertible as she navigated the maze of relationships the show provided.

While stating that she felt like Cinderella, Desiree discussed her expectations for a companion. While starting this new chapter in her life, Desiree wants to weed out the men from the boys and make sure her desire for a family is something that is not kept a secret.

Desiree was treated to an array of memorable first impressions by many of the men as they arrived for the first night. Many made references to her previous appearance on The Bachelor. Two helped her make new wishes to try and overcome the failed attempt she made at the start of the last season while others claimed that Sean Lowe made a mistake not giving her a rose.

Diogo showed up in a knight's outfit while magician Nick produced a rose from a burning napkin. Desiree's favorite entrance was the last one, which was made by Ben. The young father arrived with his adorable son Brody, making sure Desiree was aware of how important his child was to him. The worst first impression had to be handed to Jonathan. He presented Desiree with a room key for the Fantasy Suite.

Jonathan soon found himself asked to leave the show before the night was out. After three attempts to persuade Desiree to join him in the private suite, Desiree had finally had enough of his forward behavior.

Desiree did not wait until the Rose Ceremony to begin handing out the coveted flowers. Instead she quickly gave the first one to Ben. However, there were still many roses left as the night drew to an end.

Unfortunately there were no roses left for match making hopefuls Larry, Nick, and Diogo and they left feeling slightly rejected and embarrassed. Three other bachelors were ousted tonight and only 19 remain in the competition.
