The film adaptation of E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey continues to kick up a slew of chatter over who will land the groundbreaking part of Christian Grey.  The most recent name to come up on the Internet for the role of the S&M-crazed billionaire is Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

With Maroon 5's recent launch of their hit music video Love Somebody, many females have clearly taken notice of the 34-year-old.

While Levine is more of a musician, the band frontman did recently flex his acting chops in Season 2 of FX's The American Horror Story: Asylum. Although the odds of the casting department giving such a role to a singer are most likely slim to none, Levine does possess a huge fan base.

Other recent names that have come up in the buzz for the Grey role include Don Jon's Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Hannibal the TV series' Hugh Dancy, amongst several others.

Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is currently in the midst of penning the 50 Shades movie script, had stated that the flick would be staying true to the book with lots of sex and raunchiness, as the producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to Style Magazine.

Although the producers have yet to officially attach a director to the franchise, 50 Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in summer of 2014, and will be shooting in London.
