Fans of This Is Us were mainly shocked in the last episode by the big reveal that Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) kids were teens when he died, but another big reveal that came out of left field was also unearthed-the story of Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge).

Kevin was torn between Olivia (Janet Montgomery) and Sloane (Milana Vayntrub), but when he decided to declare his love for the woman he genuinely wanted to be with, he showed up at Sophie's door-the same Sophie who he was in love with as a child, and who was Kate's (Chrissy Metz) one time best friend. That wasn't even the biggest shock however, as Sophie revealed they had been married once, and were now divorced for over 10 years.

Now, Justin Hartley has revealed that Sophie will be sticking around for a while, and when fans see the two meet up again in the show's next episode, they're in for-yup, more intense emotions.

"It gets pretty intense and heartbreaking," he told Entertainment Weekly. "You're just going to want everyone to get what they want because they're such good people. But it's tough. They're in a really tough spot."

He also revealed that he actually thinks a Kevin and Sophie pairing is a good match, and it's one he hopes will be explored further as the show continues to probe their story.

"I like her and Kevin together," he said. "it is very much a story that when you['re along for the ride when you're watching it, you realize what happened-why they're not together anymore. But then there's an explanation behind it too. You hear both sides of the story, which is rare. Even though there was wrongdoing, maybe [it was] on both sides. You will see absolutely how impossible it is to turn off the love, even though you've been betrayed. You still love the person and that's the way it is."

This Is Us airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
